Story

OIL ON CANVAS | 2018 | 150 x 100cm

I was always wondering what life's real meaning was, and if I could ever put my finger on it within my limited time on earth.

Having been trained and formed as an artist in cross-cultural contexts has exposed me to a variety of perspectives on life and its meaning. Despite their differences, I have come to see a common core which I seek to capture in my "The Endless Journey" series.

That common core is Happiness: wherever we come from, we seek happiness for our own fulfillment. There is no common definition or measure of happiness. It could be the most simple thing; it could also be of great complexity. Whether or not one finds his or her happiness is dependent on fate, but our lives are all characterized by its pursuit, or the journey to find happiness. But in many cases, alas, the journey seems endless while our time here on earth is limited.
